2.13 Phase One

January 26, 2003

Thanks to Susan and Lori at Vartanetc. Used with permission.

[Story opens with Sydney strutting down a hallway in black lingerie. She stops in front of a heavyset man dressed in a robe; he is seated in front of her eating; a security guard stands nearby. He tells her to change to the "red outfit." We then see Sydney come back down the hallway with red lingerie on. The heavyset man approves and ushers the guard out of the room. Sydney pauses to look out the window; the camera pans back to show that she is on a private jet. Sydney lies on the bed and the man joins her. She briefly straddles him and then flips him over on this stomach and puts a stranglehold on his throat. She asks him where server 47 is and tells her it's behind a picture frame on the wall. She knocks him out, then flips the picture around to reveal a computer screen and keyboard. She accesses the system then pulls out a transmitting device and plugs it into the server. Communicating through an audio link, she announces that she's transmitting. She puts on a jacket and pants, grabs her gun, and begins searching for the guard. She opens a door and finds parachutes in a closet. As she opens a second door, the guard approaches her from behind with a gun. He tells her to drop it, which she does. As the guard reaches for her gun, Sydney kicks him and a fight ensues. Sydney ultimately knocks him out but turns around to see the heavyset pointing a gun at her.]

Setting: Los Angeles-CIA Ops Center. Sydney is jogging through the park, following the typical protocol as she nears the ops center. Once she arrives, she meets up with Vaughn along the way.
Sydney: Okay, so what's the new in intel.
Vaughn: Kendall wouldn't say. He wants to wait for the meeting.
Sydney: So I just ran by the park. And there were like millions of people just playing Frisbee, having picnics.
Vaughn: I know. What are people doing in the middle of a workday?
Sydney: Right, just in the middle of the day, hanging out.
[Kendall approaches]
Kendall: Let's move. (speaking to Vaughn as he passes by) Did you tell her about the transfers?
Vaughn: (to Sydney) Some recruits from Langley will be observing.
[Sydney begins to walk away when Vaughn gently takes hold of her arm.]
Vaughn: Wait, before the meeting….
[Vaughn leads her through a doorway into a secluded hallway.]
Vaughn: I am going to say something and it will either be obvious to you or seem presumptuous. Either way, I've got to say it. This isn't working. I have been thinking about this for a while. I don't know what the hell to do.
Sydney: What?
Vaughn: (in a serious tone) I think you know what.
Sydney: I need you to tell me.
Vaughn: (getting emotional) You need me to tell you what? That when you are on operations, I can't sleep at night. That when we're in debrief, I have to force myself to remember what the hell we are supposed to be reviewing, when all I want to do is kiss you!
Sydney: (looking choked up) Sometimes it is hard to remember what we're supposed to be talking about.
Vaughn: That's what I'm talking about. And the thing that makes me crazy every day is people that would kill us if we're seen together, the Alliance, SD-6, Sloane, are the very forces that brought you into my life to begin with. What kind of a sick joke is that?
Sydney: So, what, are you thinking that maybe we shouldn't be working together?
Vaughn: (rubs his hand on his forehead in frustration) That's what I was thinking but then I thought, we are great together.
Sydney: I know.
Vaughn: And the more we work together, the sooner the Alliance gets destroyed.
Sydney: So what are you suggesting?
[Weiss opens the door into the hallway where they are standing. Vaughn turns his head to acknowledge him then turns back to Syd]
Weiss: What is this, the flirting corner?
Vaughn: Uh, we're talking.
Weiss: Yeah, I figured that out. Uh, there's a meeting……..national security…….remember that….it's important….. for the people.
Sydney: We'll be right there.
[Weiss closes the door and walks away. Sydney and Vaughn smile at each other in silence then Vaughn walks out. Sydney still smiling, wipes her hand across her forehead then leaves]

Setting: CIA Ops Center briefing room. Kendall is addressing a group of agents including Jack, Sydney, Vaughn, Weiss, and several new recruits from Langley. Jack and Sydney are seated across the room from Vaughn and Weiss. All the agents are seated at tables around the room with flat screen monitors in front of them. As Kendall begins speaking, Sloane's picture appears on the monitors.
Kendall: Arvin Sloane. As most of you know, Sloane is the acting director of SD-6. For those of you new to the fun and games, SD-6 is an arm of the Alliance, a worldwide organized crime syndicate….
[As Kendall is speaking, Vaughn glances over Sydney. She turns the glance.]
Kendall: ….responsible for weaponry, drug traffic, and murder. The Alliance keeps a dozen offices, or cells, SD-1 through SD-12. We've identified the location of seven of these cells. The rest is speculation.
[Kendall references a video screen on the wall displaying digital international mapping. Small windows pop up, identifying the locations of the seven known Alliance cell locations.]
Kendall: The agents Bristow, Jack and Sydney, have been working under cover at SD-6, tracking their objectives, operations, contacts……working under Arvin Sloane….until now.
[Kendall looks over at Sydney and Jack. Sydney looks stunned. The camera shoots over to Vaughn who is stunned as well.]
Kendall: We've intercepted communications, which reveal that the Alliance has picked someone to be Sloane's replacement. [pause] Anthony Geiger, which is about as much as I can tell you about him.
[Geiger's face appears on the flat screens in front of the attendees; Sydney stares at the monitor; Vaughn, looking deeply concerned, glances at Sydney]
Kendall: Geiger has no file at CIA, FBI, no police record, no overdue video rentals, nothing.
Sydney: (lifting her hand slightly) Excuse me, Sloane's being replaced?
Kendall: He's been MIA for five days. With Sloane gone and Geiger coming in, we no longer have access to their inner circle. So Sydney…..Jack, your assignment is to get close to Geiger, earn his trust, get back inside that inner circle. That's it..
Sydney: (to Jack) Dad, the one person I want brought to justice, he's disappeared.
Jack: I've been doing this a long time Sydney. There's rarely an end to the story.

[Sydney arrives at SD-6 and stops to Dixon on the way to Geiger's office. Dixon expresses his concern over the replacement of Sloane. Sydney heads to Geiger's office and introduces herself. Geiger begins questioning her about Danny. She confirms that they were engaged and that Danny was studying to be a pediatric cardiologist. She tells Geiger that Danny died because she told him about her work with SD-6. Geiger questions why Sydney showed up for work the next day after Danny's death. Sydney responds that the policies of SD-6 were clearly explained to her and, as a result, she took responsibility for Danny's death. She further states that her loyalties are with SD-6. Geiger, with a smirk on this face, thanks Sydney for coming in. As Sydney heads back to her desk, Sark follows closely behind her. Sark tells her she looks as unstrung as he felt when he had his meeting with Geiger. Sydney, annoyed by Sark, states, for the record, that she is "fully strung." Sark proceeds to tell her that Geiger is former German intelligence and is certain to uncover hidden secrets. He tells her that Geiger has already hacked into Sloan's confidential files on "server 47." Sydney is perplexed and tells Sark that there are only 46 servers. Sark responds that Geiger seemed quite proud of the fact that he hacked into files. - Scene cuts to Sydney and Jack meeting in a storage facility. Sydney fills Jack in on server 47. She is adamant about locating it, believing that the server could be the "silver bullet." Jack tells her he'll have CIA sanction it.]

Setting: CIA Operations Center. Sydney and Vaughn are walking along and approach Weiss sitting at a desk.
Vaughn: We've tracked down server 47. The reason you couldn't get a twenty on it is because it doesn't' exist on this planet. It's in the sky. It's a 747 purchased by the Alliance in 1998. They retrofitted the interior to contain a secure server and a satellite uplink.
Sydney: They keep the computer airborne?
Vaughn: It only lands for refueling. The Alliance has this man overseeing the operation. [Vaughn hands a photo to Sydney]
Vaughn: Gil Nacor. He is an accomplished computer security expert. He and his bodyguards travel with the server at all times.
Sydney: This guy spends his life on a plane with a computer?
Weiss: (grinning) It's a really nice plane.
Vaughn: (to Sydney) How do they convince an upper level asset to do that job. . . . . . right? They provide him with women.
Sydney: You're kidding me.
Weiss. Nope. Twice a week. Alternate airports in England and Spain. A high-end escort agency provides a new….. "friend".
Sydney: (in a presumptuous tone) I have to be his friend.
Vaughn: No. You just have to get him alone. The computer's in the belly of the plane. But apparently there are terminal accesses in the main cabin.
Weiss: We're all going to Barcelona. We have a team set up there already. They will ambush the drop-off of his latest date.
Vaughn: But they'll deliver you in her place. Just get onto the plane, get Nacore alone, access the server, and transmit its contents to us. We'll be in a cargo jet flying at altitude.
Weiss: We have to stay in within 5000 feet of you to receive your signal.
[Weiss shows Sydney a case with earrings and a silver pen in it]
Weiss: Here's your transmitter. The earrings will give us audio and video, and Optec has the rest of your gear.
[Weiss hands the case to Sydney and stands up]
Weiss: Guys, we should get to the plane.
[Weiss walks away]

Setting: An cargo plane airborne over the Atlantic. Vaughn and Weiss have headsets on and have their surveillance equipment set to go, waiting for Sydney to activate the audio and video links.
Weiss: Okay, whenever you want to have that talk.
Vaughn: What talk?
Weiss: About the cologne or whatever the hell you're wearing.
Vaughn: I'm not wearing any cologne.
Weiss: (sarcastically) Well, something's going on. No man naturally smells as good as you do right now.
[Their video surveillance feed comes on screen, showing Sydney's point of view]
Weiss: Camera's on, here we go.
[The scene reverts back to Sydney on the private jet. She is dressed in back lingerie and standing in font of Nacor in his bedroom; a guard stands nearby. From Vaughn and Weiss' vantagepoint, they see Nacor sitting in his chair, eating and ogling Sydney. Vaughn is fixated on the video. Nacor tells Sydney that he wants her to put the red lingerie on instead.]
Vaughn: That son of a bitch!
Weiss: (to Vaughn) Easy…..come on.
[The scene reverts back to the private jet. Sydney reappears with red lingerie on. Nacor is pleased with what he sees.]
Vaughn: (sounding defensive and jealous) I swear I am going to kill this guy.
[Weiss looks sarcastically at Vaughn. - Scene changes back to the private jet. Sydney is lying on the bed. Nacor unzips his jacket and climbs into bed with her. - The scene cuts back to Vaughn and Weiss.]
Weiss: There's no way that guy smells as good as you.
Vaughn: (not taking his eyes off the video feed) It's aftershave. I got a new aftershave.
Weiss: Yeah, well I'd lighten up on it.
Vaughn: Yeah?
Weiss: Oh yeah, to the point of non-use.
[Back to the private jet, Sydney straddles Nacor, then flips him over on his stomach and gets a stranglehold on his throat. Back in the cargo plane, Weiss raises his arm in approval and looks over at Vaughn. Vaughn, focused on the video, grins.]
Sydney: Tell me how to access server 47.
[Nacor tells her that the server is behind the picture frame on the wall across from the bed; Sydney then knocks him out with an elbow to the head. - Back on the cargo plane, Vaughn and Weiss, are grinning from ear-to-ear, acting as though their favorite team just scored. Vaughn has the proud look on his face of "Yeah, that's my girl." - Back at the jet, Sydney turns the picture frame around to reveal a computer monitor and keyboard.]
Vaughn: All right, get going.
[Sydney accesses some files then plugs in a device to transfer the data back to Vaughn and Weiss.]
Sydney: We're transmitting
Vaughn: We got it
Sydney: We should be at Heathrow in an hour.
Vaughn: Team's already in place.
Sydney: I am going to take out the guard.
[Sydney puts on a jacket and pants, arms herself, and moves into the front of the plane looking for the guard. Vaughn and Weiss are still watching the surveillance feed from Sydney's earrings. As she opens a closet, the guard appears behind Sydney, with a gun pointing at her, which is reflected in a mirror in the closet. Vaughn looks panicked. The guard tells her to get down on her knees and put the gun down]
Vaughn: Throw the gun down…..make him reach for it!
[Sydney does so. When her reaches for the gun, Sydney gives him a kick to his mid-body. They begin fighting and Sydney succeeds in knocking him out. As she does so, however, Nacor reappears from the bedroom and points a gun at her. As Vaughn and Weiss continue to watch the video, Vaughn looks worried sick. Sydney quickly dives behind some furniture as he shoots. She grabs a gun belonging to the guard off the floor.]
Nacor: You think you can steal from us, you little bitch.
[Sydney then aims for a window in the airplane door and starts shooting at it.]
Vaughn: No..No..NO…..NO…..NO!
[The shot-out window causes a loss of air pressure in the cabin and the door is ripped off; the guard's body is sucked out immediately. Sydney, in danger of flying out the door, holds on to furniture for dear life. Nacor cannot hold on and is sucked out of the plane as well. As the plane continues to lose altitude and spirals downward, Sydney struggles to climb across various pieces of furniture to make her way to the closet containing the parachutes. Vaughn and Weiss, watch in shock and fear, through the video feed. Sydney successfully reaches the closet and straps on a parachute and goggles. She then places herself in a fetal position and flies out the door of the plane.]
Vaughn: (watching in devastation) OH MY GOD!
[Sydney releases her parachute, bringing relief to Vaughn and Weiss. Vaughn and Weiss, looking exhausted and dazed, remove their headsets, still reeling from what has transpired]
Weiss : (taking a deep breath) Wooh!…….She's all yours.
[Vaughn sits silently, still in a state of shock from the possibility that he could have lost her]

[Back in L.A., Will and Francie are in the kitchen preparing to cook lobsters. Francie beams as she tells Will that the restaurant is finally earning a profit. Will, feeling somewhat guilty, announces that he has to quit his wait staff job at the restaurant because he's been offered a writing job for a travel magazine. Francie is thrilled for Will and walks over and hugs him. She gives him a quick kiss. They pause and look at each other then begin kissing more passionately.]

Setting: Los Angeles-CIA Ops Center. Sydney walks in and Vaughn approaches her and hands her some paperwork.
Vaughn: Analysis got done with the hard drive
[She glances through the paperwork then looks back at Vaughn with surprise.]

Setting: Warehouse/self-storage facility. Sydney, Vaughn, Kendall and Jack meet. Kendall is reviewing the paperwork.
Sydney: Sir, this is our chance to destroy the Alliance now!
Kendall: Miss Bristow, I understand what the papers suggest but you don't rush an operation like this!
Vaughn: Sir, as soon as the Alliance realizes there's a breach in their system this information won't be valid!
Kendall: You may recall the 150 pounds of C-4 buried in the subbasement of SD-6 and probably every other SD cell! If this itnel is wrong and we move on it, we're talking about the deaths of hundreds of civilians!
Jack: The answer is in the document. According to the information you retrieved, each SD cell uses a code which changes weekly to operate their security system. The current code is listed right here.
Vaughn: So you're saying we need to get into SD-6 and find out what the actual code is right now?
Sydney: If it matches the one in the document, then the rest of the intel is real.
Kendall: In which case I could go to Langley about raiding the Alliance facilities.
Vaughn: Do we have the current SD-6 code?
Jack: No. But I can get it.

[The scene moves to Francie's restaurant. Sydney, Will, and Francie are sitting at a table. Will and Francie are caught up in their own conversation as Sydney observes them and takes a sip of wine. After a minute or so, she finally interjects and asks them what's up, commenting in a joking tone that they're acting like they're on drugs. Francie confesses that they made out in the kitchen. Sydney is shocked but happy. - Scene cuts to SD-6. Geiger is reviewing Sloane's e-mails and finds one suspicious. He requests another agent, McCullough, to play back what Sloane had been typing via a program that records keystrokes. - Scene cuts to outside Francie's restaurant as Sydney and Will leave. Will gives Sydney the details on the kissing session and tells her that although he doesn't know if it will evolve into anything more, it did not feel wrong. Sydney tells him she is going to have a lot of fun with it. - Back at SD-6, Geiger and McCullough play back deleted keystrokes from an Sloane's e-mail. A section of deleted text reads" Jack and Sydney Bristow are double agents." In another area of the building, Jack walks down a hall and enters a conference room. He sits down at a computer and begins typing when Geiger walks in. As they introduce themselves, the doors close; Jack knows he's in trouble.]

Setting: CIA Ops Center. Sydney's cell phone rings; Vaughn is sitting near her.
Sydney: Yeah?
Jack: Sydney, it's me. I'm talking to Mr. Geiger, he'd like you to come in right away. Oh, and take surface streets, they're doing some work on the freeway.
[Fear appears on Sydney's face and tears well up in her eyes.]
Sydney: Okay... I will...
Jack: See you soon.
[They hang up. Sydney stands up and turns her back to Vaughn, crying and trying to regain composure.]
Vaughn: Did he get the code? Syd?
Sydney: He was compromised.
Vaughn: What?
Sydney: He just said "Take the surface streets, they're doing some work on the freeway."
Vaughn: I don't understand.
Sydney: It's a phrase we came up with last year. A code to let one of us know if the other was ever discovered, to warn them to stay away. He's with Geiger now.
[Crying, she covers her mouth with her hands. Vaughn, looking helpless, puts his hand on Sydney's shoulder in an effort to comfort her.]

[Scene cuts to a torture room at SD-6. Jack is strapped in a chair and is slowly regaining consciousness. As they exchange small talk, Geiger rubs some gel onto Jack's legs, after which he places metal bracelets around Jack's ankles and then clips jumper cables to the bracelets. He tells Jack he need only confess as to whom he is working for and Jack will be freed. Jack remains silent and Geiger proceeds with the electrical shock.]

[The scene cuts to Will on a payphone. He is speaking to Sydney who is at the ops center. Sydney tells Will to get Francie and leave town. Fearful that Geiger may be on to her, Sydney tells him that someone may be looking for her and she wants to be Will and Francie be safe. She tells Will she'll be okay and hangs up as Vaughn approaches.]
Vaughn: Kendall's on his way back.
Sydney: He's not going to do a thing.
Vaughn: You don't know that.
Sydney: My dad was right. Kendall's not going to make a move on the Alliance until he knows that information is valid. We have to get that code from SD-6.
Vaughn: You cannot go back there!
Sydney: I know.

[Scene cuts to an empty shipyard. Sydney is standing next to her jeep as Dixon drives up. He gets out and walks up to her. Sydney tells Dixon the time has come to explain everything to him and to apologize. Dixon appears both concerned and puzzled. Sydney explains that SD-6 has no connection to the CIA and that all he has known has been a lie. Dixon thinks Sydney is losing her mind. She tells him his suspicions about her were true but that he needs to trust her when she says that SD-6 is part of the Alliance, that they are the enemy. Dixon listens. She goes on to tell him that Geiger has Jack and that he may kill him and begins to start crying. As she tries to regain composure, Dixon starts arguing, saying that's it crazy. Sydney pleads with him to listen. She tells him that she cannot return to SD-6, that she will certainly be killed. She tells him he needs to hack into the SD-6 network and retrieve a hidden file and hands him a piece of paper. She tells him that they are in need of a code. If the code matches the one already in the possession of the CIA, it will confirm intel and allow the CIA to raid all of the SD-6 and Alliance offices. She reiterates that if Dixon follows the instructions, he will see that SD-6 is Alliance and not CIA. She tells him that she will wait for his e-mail but begs him to hurry, as there is little time to spare. Sydney begins to cry again. Dixon, overwhelmed with what has just been thrown at him, takes the paper and leaves. We then see Dixon walk into SD-6 and sit down at his computer. He follows Sydney's instructions and upon logging into the network, sees a screen that reads "Alliance Secure Network" followed by Alliance Network - Cell SD-6. The realization that Sydney was being truthful suddenly sets in and he sits there in shock. - The scene briefly cuts to the CIA ops center. Sydney, Vaughn, Weiss, and several others are gathered around Sydney's computer as they nervously await an e-mail from Dixon. - The scene returns back toSD-6. Dixon, stunned and devastated, calls his wife to tell her that he loves her and that he is not certain when he will be home. He hangs up and stares, first at the e-mail message he has typed which references the "code" and then at theSend button.]

[Back at the ops center, Sydney and the group continue to wait. Suddenly, her e-mail program beeps, notifying her that she has a new message. She opens the message to find the code, the match they were hoping for. - The scene then cuts to a CIA briefing room where Kendall addresses several agents including Sydney, Vaughn, and Weiss. Kendall informs them that the validity of intel on the workings of the Alliance has been confirmed and as a result, at 2200 hours that evening, the CIA with the assistance of 4 other agencies will conduct simultaneous raids on all Alliance facilities. It is their hope that, come the following morning, the Alliance will cease to exist. The scene then forwards to a short time later in the same briefing room. We then see all of the agents dressed in their combat fatigues, receiving direction from Kendall. Kendall explains that the team will get as close to the perimeter of the Credit Dauphine building as possible and disable the security system. On his command, the team, along with others around the world, will raid all SD offices, Alliance headquarters, and partners' residences. He tells the team that while most SD-6 agents are desk-trained and won't fight back, the SD-6 security force will respond with lethal force. The team is authorized to take them out. Kendall wishes them luck and sends them on their way.]

[The scene then changes to the SD-6 underground parking garage. Several SUV's quickly drive in and park. Vaughn jumps out of one of the vehicles and disables the security camera. - The scene changes to the SD-6 torture room where Geiger is holding Jack. Jack is barely conscious. Geiger comments that he has never seen anyone survive three shocks to the heart. - Cut back to the team in the underground garage. They run into the building and head to the elevator, at which point Sydney removes a panel from the elevator control board and trips a wire. Vaughn proceeds to open the elevator doors. - Back at the ops center, 3 agents are sitting at workstations, assigned to monitor the progress of each of the raids. - Scene briefly cuts to SD-6 where a CIA team member uses a blowtorch to remove a wall panel, thus allowing the team access into the building. - Back in the torture room, Geiger tells Jack he has given him enough time to reconsider and shocks Jack yet again. - In an entranceway outside of the SD-6 offices, the armed CIA team position themselves to begin the raid.]
Vaughn: You okay?
Sydney: Yeah.
[At the ops center, the agents announce that SD-5, SD-4, and SD-3 are standing by. - Back at SD-6, Sydney and the team pull ski masks over their faces. - Back at the ops center, a female agent announces that all teams are in position; Kendall gives the command to move in. - Scene returns to SD-6. As Sydney and the team move in and begin the raid, Marshall approaches a dazed Dixon sitting at his desk. Marshall, unaware of what is happening, offers Dixon some pigs in blanket. Dixon declines and Marshall asks if everything is all right. Dixon, in a lifeless tone, responds yeah. The CIA team enters and the shooting begins. Dixon and Marshall get down on the floor.]

[As the raid continues, Sydney runs across the room and she removes her mask and heads down a hallway. She runs to the torture room where Jack is being held. Just as she is entering the room, As Geiger prepares to give Jack one last and fatal shock, Sydney bursts into the room, her gun pointed at Geiger. As Geiger attempts to pull his gun own, Sydney shoots and kills him. She rushes over to Jack, horrified at what has happened to him. Jack reassures her that he's okay. - The scene briefly cuts to the ops center as CIA casualties are being reported. - Back at SD-6, a CIA medic comes in to the torture room and tells Sydney that he will attend to Jack. Sydney returns to the main office, where the raid has subsided and SD-6 employees are being handcuffed and led away. As Marshall and Dixon are handcuffed, a terrified and confused Marshall looks to Dixon for answers. Dixon shakes his head and Marshall is then taken away. As an agent leads Dixon away, Sydney stops to tell him that it will all be over soon and she thanks him for his help. To her dismay, Dixon angrily tells Sydney not to talk to him. - The scene flashes back to the CIA ops center where a female agent tells Kendall that although details are sketchy, it appears that they have gained control of all Alliance facilities.]

[The scene changes back to the SD-6 offices. Vaughn takes off his mask and looks around at the damage. Saddened by Dixon's words and trying to absorb all that has transpired, Sydney observes the destruction around her. As, she looks around the office, she sees Vaughn standing on the opposite side of the room. Camera cuts to Vaughn. As he glances around, he catches sight of Sydney; their eyes meet. Though there are no smiles, nor is there a sense of celebration, their eyes convey an unspoken understanding and seemingly block out the world around them. They begin walking toward each other. Amidst the rubble of what was once SD-6, Sydney and Vaughn let go of the flood of emotions they have been holding back for so long and embrace and kiss. An excited Weiss approaches them and announces that they succeeded in taking down SD-6. They continue kissing. Weiss again tries to get their attention and repeats the good news. They continue kissing. Weiss realizes his effort is futile and concedes. As Weiss walks away, Sydney and Vaughn continue to lose themselves in a passionate kiss, oblivious to all that is going on around them. The scene then cuts to Sark sitting in an office in an undisclosed location. He has a drink in his hand and is speaking on the phone. He tells an unidentified person that Sydney leaked the intel to the CIA just as they had planned and offers his congratulations: the Alliance was gone. - The scene cuts to Sloane on a beach looking out over the ocean and talking on his cell phone. He tells Sark that it's not yet time to celebrate, that there is much more work to be done, and that he should move on to phase two. He also tells Sark to check in with their "new asset" to make certain they are on schedule. Sloane hangs up and smiles. - The scene cuts to Francie's restaurant where a cell phone is ringing. We see someone who we believe to be Francie answering the call; she is speaking to Sark who asks if everything is in place. "Francie" responds that it is and hangs up the phone. The camera pans over to a blood-splattered wall. We then see the real Francie dead in the corner with a bullet to her forehead.]
