Setting: Los Angeles - Warehouse
Sydney: Sloane got back from London last night. A full partner with the Alliance. Emily knew the truth. Her death, his immediately being let in - I am convinced he killed his wife to get in.
Vaughn: Killing his wife wouldn't surprise me. Eating his wife wouldn't surprise me.
Sydney: SD-6 and the Alliance believe that my mother is in hiding. And they know that Khasinau is dead. And they are correct to assume whatever is left of her organization is vulnerable. The Alliance wants whatever assent they can get their hands on.
Vaughn: So where are they starting?
Sydney: My mother used blackmail, extensively. In running her operation, she would get dirt on people - powerful, important people. And coerce them into doing whatever she needed. Pornographic photos, illegally obtained audio files, names, dates -- they're all on one computer disk.
Vaughn: So what does the Alliance want? The dirt?
Sydney: To her Sloane. It's all about God and country.

Setting: Los Angeles - Warehouse
Sydney: My flight is at six.
Vaughn: We'll make contact with a counter-mission no later than three.
Sydney: Okay.
Vaughn and Sydney get up to leave.
Sydney: How's Weiss?
Vaughn: He's still in the hospital. But the doctors say he's gonna be okay. And until then, I've got to feed his fish.
Vaughn's cell phone rings.
Vaughn (on the phone): Yeah… Yes, let him through. It's Kendall.
Sydney: What does he want?
Vaughn: I don't know.
Sydney: I don't trust him.
Vaughn: We have to hear him out.
Sydney: Hear him out? He arrested me!
Vaughn: He's in control of operation.
Sydney: He thought I was the Devil!
Kendall walks into the warehouse.
Kendall: Mr. Vaughn. Agent Bristow.
Vaughn: Did you clear this meeting with Devlin?
Kendall: No, I'm sorry I don't have time to go through channels. There has been an interesting development regarding you mother. As you know she surrendered to the CIA and claims that she wants to cooperate.
Sydney: So she has handled over her agency's operations manual - the Bible?
Kendall: No. She won't talk about it. She won't talk to us about anything.
Sydney: Then as far as I'm concerned that's the end of the story.
Kendall: Well that's the interesting development. It seems that the only person she is willing to talk to is you.
Sydney: Then you're out of luck.
Kendall: I'm afraid you are gonna have to talk to her.
Vaughn: Look excuse me but you can't compel Agent…
Kendall: That's exactly what I can do.
Sydney (to Vaughn): Are we through here?
Kendall: Miss Bristow, I don't have to remind you that this is a matter of national security. Do I?
Vaughn: Yeah, we're through.
Sydney: I'll wait to hear from you.
Sydney walks out of the warehouse.
Kendall: Just so that we are clear here, Mr. Vaughn. I know all about your participation in busting Agent Bristow out of federal custody. Convince her to talk to her mother or face charges for obstruction of justice and harboring a fugitive.
Kendall begins to walk out.
Vaughn: I guess it's two for one day on blackmail.
Kendall turns around and stares at Vaughn. Then continues to walk out.

Setting: Los Angeles - Warehouse Sydney is examining a necklace.
Vaughn: It's a sub-vocal mic with it we can hear what's going on between you and Dixon at all times. And as soon as you can, I want you to go into radio silence with him so you and I can talk.
Sydney: Call waiting for spies.
Vaughn: Now, the blackmail disk is in a safe in Naj's suite on the fourth floor. As soon as you get it, you will deliver it to this man. Richard Schmidt. He is working under a diplomatic cover at the Rabat embassy.
Vaughn hands Sydney a photo.
Vaughn (continued): He'll be waiting for you on the third floor. Now, Sloane is obviously looking for something specific. We don't know what. Schmidt will scan the, analyze what's it and spit out a bogus copy that's close enough to the original to fool Sloane. That's the disk you will deliver to SD-6.
Sydney: Okay.
Vaughn: Or you can ask your mother about the contents of the disk.
Sydney: Kendall must really be putting the pressure on you for you to ask me that.
Vaughn: Yeah, he is, but I've been thinking about it myself. Listen, you are really good at this. I mean this is what you have been trained for -- at compartmentalizing your emotions. You do it on every mission. You do it with Sloane.
Sydney: This isn't the same.
Vaughn: Syd. I would never force you to do this. I would never make this an official request. But I also know that what you want more than anything is to destroy SD-6 and bring an end to the Alliance. And if she can help us, then why not use her if you can?
Sydney: Because I can't. Because I won't. Maybe you could shutdown with her with her. I couldn't. I'll talk to you when I get back.

Setting: Los Angeles - The Secret Operations Center. Vaughn: I spoke with Agent Bristow and she has not intention of speaking with her mother.
Kendall: Mr. Vaughn.
Vaughn: Yes, sir. I know it's unacceptable. Let me remind you that you are asking a woman to go face to face
Kendall: You don't have to remind me of anything.
Vaughn: …With the woman who abandon Sydney as a girl.
Kendall: I know the story. I know you have your own issues.
Vaughn: Yes, I have my own issues with her.
Kendall: I have read the reports.
Vaughn: Mr. Kendall. Irina Derevko shot Sydney.
Kendall: Yes, she shot her.
Vaughn: Point blank range and could have killed her.
Kendall: But didn't… Didn't kill her… Did not. That woman forty-eight hours ago was one hundred percent pure bad news. But now she's ours and there is a just chance Mr. Vaughn, she has turned.
Vaughn: Once she got done with my father, he could only be identified by his dental records.
Kendall: Yes, nevertheless she headed up an organization that controlled people who influenced polices and decisions at NATO, the UN, the World Bank. Even with all of our resources, the CIA does not know the full scope of her operation, the key players, their methods, acquisitions, ambitions…
Vaughn: I can get her to talk. I don't want you ever to ask Sydney to see her ever again.
Kendall: Well, I'm not going to make that promise.
Vaughn: You are not the easiest guy to work with, are you?
Kendall: No. No, defiantly not.

Setting: Los Angeles - Irina's Cell at the Secret Operations Center Vaughn enters the cellblock.
Vaughn: We're interested in a computer disk containing information used for blackmail. We believe you are familiar with this item. That's an implied question. I'll make it clear for you. Are you familiar with this item? I know you want to see your daughter. I can guarantee that is never gonna happen unless she knows you are cooperating. Prove yourself. Give Sydney a reason to see you.
Irina: Sydney. Interesting.
Vaughn: Agent Bristow is in Rabat seeking to recover the disk. Is there anything she should know?
Irina: Next to the safe there is a fire alarm. If you want to protect her, tell her to pull it first then open the safe.
Vaughn: Why?
Irina: I've given you a gift and all you get from me is one.
Vaughn begins to leave.
Irina: You look just like him.
Vaughn (to the guard): I'm through with the prisoner.
Vaughn walks out.

Setting: Los Angeles - The Secret Operations Center. Vaughn enters the operations center. Kendall is monitoring Sydney's mission.
Vaughn: I need to talk to Agent Bristow.
Agent: She's not radio silent. If we try and communicate, her SD-6 partner can hear us.
Vaughn: And if we don't, she might trigger the alarm.

Setting: Los Angeles - The Secret Operations Center. Sydney is on her mission in Rabat, breaking into the safe in Naj's suite. Vaughn and Kendall are monitoring the mission back in Los Angeles.
Vaughn: Now.
Agent: Freelancer, this is Boot Camp. Do you copy?
Sydney: Go ahead, Boot Camp.
Vaughn: Sydney, don't open the safe.
Sydney: What?
Vaughn: Is there a fire alarm on the wall?
Sydney (voice over): Yes.
Vaughn: Okay, listen to me. It's a fail-safe. Don't open the safe until after you pull the alarm.
Sydney: We had not intel on a fail-safe. Where did you get this information?
Kendall: Vaughn with spoke your mother. The intel came from her. It's her disk. She's familiar with the vault. If there is a fail-safe on the vault, only she is going to know.
Sydney: And what if there's not? I'm suppose just pull the fire alarm.
Vaughn: I know this sounds crazy but I think it's for real.
Sydney: Vaughn, she wants me dead.
Kendall: If that were true Agent Bristow, she would have killed you in Barcelona.
Sydney (voice over): Did you talk to my father about this?
Vaughn: Two minutes ago on the phone while we were waiting for you to go into radio silent.
Sydney: What did he say?
Vaughn: Your dad…
Flashback of Vaughn on the phone with Jack.
Jack: The answer is no.
Vaughn: All I'm asking is you consider it.
Jack: Consider the source.
Vaughn: I do not need to be lectured.
Jack: The woman is not to be trusted.
Vaughn: Jack, listen to me…
Jack: Under no circumstances discuss this with my daughter.
End of flashback.
Vaughn: Respectfully Syd, I don't think your father is thinking clearly where your mother is concerned.
Sydney: And you can?
Vaughn: I'm trying. She has nothing to gain by lying.
Kendall: Miss Bristow, I want you to pull that fire alarm.
Vaughn: Sydney, I'd do it.
Kendall: Agent Bristow pull that alarm.

Setting: Los Angeles - Warehouse
Sydney: I want to talk to my mother. I hate her. I don't understand her. I think she's a monster. But if she can help bring an end to SD-6, than what I think is irrelevant. Vaughn: I'm not so sure.
Sydney: What?
Vaughn: I've been thinking about it. I'm not so certain that's…
Sydney: Is this about my father?
Vaughn: He has a point.
Sydney: You said so yourself, my father can't think clearly where she is concerned.
Vaughn: That woman has an agenda. She wouldn't…
Sydney: Vaughn, I screwed up.
Vaughn: We don't know what she is after.
Sydney: If I had listen to her, we'd have the disk right now. All I know is she offered good intel and I did not choose to use it. Now SD-6 has the blackmail disk, we don't know what they want with it, but they've got it and we don't. Now, it's my fault.
Vaughn: I know I was the one that tried to convince to you speak to your mother - to be unemotional her. I thought I could do it. …See her. …Be cold blooded as she is. It's hard to explain what it feels like. Sitting across from her. …What she did to my family. … To my father. But she is you mother Sydney. With all she has done, she is your mother.
Sydney: Vaughn, if you are worried about me, you don't need to be.

Setting: Los Angeles - The Secret Operations Center. Sydney is going to visit her mother.
Vaughn (voice over): To get to the facility where your mother is being held, you'll go through a secret entrance. Start at southwest corner of Riverside Park. Head east until you past a homeless man sitting in front of a stature. He'll have a sign indicating he's a Vietnam vet. He'll have a cup, drop a coin it.
Undercover agent: Freelancer requesting covert entry.
Monitoring agent: Copy that routing her in.
Vaughn: At Riverside turn left. The traffic cameras will identify if you are being tracked visually or electronically.
Monitoring agent: She's clean.
Vaughn: At the underpass beneath the one-thirty-four, there's an emergency phone. It's out of order. If it's ringing you have been cleared of all surveillances.
Flashback to Vaughn and Sydney in the warehouse.
Vaughn: This a series of three-digit codes. Memorize them. They rotate weekly.
End of flashback.
Vaughn (voice over): After the phone, enter the appropriate code. In front of you, there's a industrial shipping container at the backside of the door it will unlock. Go down a steep set of stairs and through a series of checkpoints. And a quarter mile later you will be at the operational center.
Sydney enters the Operational Center

Setting: Los Angeles - The Secret Operations Center. Kendall briefs Sydney and Vaughn for the mission.
Kendall: Here's what we know about Fordson. He's based in Helsinki. A year ago, his company contracted with the Pentagon to manufacture a terahertz wave camera.
Crane: Put in a satellite it can see into NORAD undetected.
Kendall: Last month, Fordson failed to make delivery, claiming production problems.
Vaughn: Or he produced the camera just fine, but planned on delivering it to your mother.
Sydney: So SD-6 wanted that disk, so that they can blackmail Fordson into giving them the camera.
Kendall: Philips get the floor plan of the Las Grove, any intel we've got. Crane, I want a meeting op tech in an hour. You're going to Helsinki. You're getting that camera.
Vaughn: Great bedside manners, uh?

Setting: Helsinki - Restaurant Vaughn and Sydney are in Helsinki to get the camera. Vaughn sits at the bar, keeping surveillance. Sydney heads out onto the balcony.
Vaughn: The guards will be changing shifts in two minutes. You should be in the lab by the time they leave and have five minutes before they get back.
Sloane walks into the restaurant.
Vaughn: Syd, Sloane's here.
Sydney is outside setting up.
Sydney: He's after the camera, too.
Vaughn: You wanna call off the op?
Sydney: We go for it. I just need a minute.
Sloane introduces himself to Forsdon, while Vaughn watches from the bar.
Sloane (to Fordson): Mr. Fordson. Arvin Sloane.
Forsdon: You Americans are persistent. I'm tell you on the phone our company is not looking for new partners, still you come all this way.
Vaughn: Syd, you ready?
Sydney: The handbrake won't lock into place.
Fordson: Why don't we talk about it on the balcony? Shall we? Vaughn: Syd, he's heading right toward you.
Sydney: I'm not ready, yet!
Vaughn: Well, you better get ready. Syd, he's gonna see you.
Vaughn trips a waiter to cause a distraction.
Sydney: I'm good. Thanks.
Sydney lowers herself down the side of the building.
Sydney: I'm at fourteen. Where's Sloane?
Vaughn: With Fordson putting on the squeeze.

Setting: Helsinki - Restaurant Sloane and Fordson head towards the elevator on their way to the lab.
Vaughn: Sloane just left. I repeat, he is on his way.
Vaughn follows Sloane and Fordson to the elevator. Sydney is in the lab.
Sydney: Found it.
Vaughn: Syd, only four more floors to go.
Sydney grabs the camera and leaves the lab.
Sydney: Got it. Meet me at the extraction point.

Setting: Helsinki - Outside of the building. Vaughn drives up and meets Sydney at the extraction point.
Vaughn: Let's go!
