FYI: VG, RR, AFI
Nothing like starting an update with acronymic fun! What it all means, of course, is that Victor Garber and Ron Rifkin are going to be at an American Film Institute luncheon, and video footage will be provided directly by AFI immediately after the event via satellite at Telstar 5/Tr. 23 (C-Band) today from 7:00-7:15 p.m. (EST) and a re-feed from 7:30-7:45 p.m. (EST). Pics will be available online at 6:00 p.m. (EST) today at the AFI site.
It wouldn't be awards season without awards
The Alias ep "Succession" has been nom'd for Sound Mixing by the Cinema Audio Society, according to Variety. Its competition in that category is "Grissom Versus the Volcano" of "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation"; "Shear Stupidity" of "NYPD Blue"; "I'm Sorry, I'm Lost" of "Six Feet Under"; and "5 p.m.-6 p.m." of "24." And although it's not Alias related, two of my favorite films of the year were nom'd in the movie Sound Mixing category, so I thought I'd give 'em a gratuitous shout-out: go Return of the King and Pirates of the Caribbean!
Happy days are here again
Because we've got the latest batch of Patrick caps! These ones are from Full Disclosure. (I'm particularly fond of this pic of young!CSM looking psychotic whilst having a shoot-out behind vials of stolen ova. Seriously, Sark/DA does seem to bear a bit of a resemblence to young Jeffrey Spender/Chris Owens in that pic.) And as always, a million thanks to Patrick for these fabulous caps!!
Sorry for the slight delay on today's update; in the grand tradition of my nerdiness, I got caught up playing with, I mean "examining" 2200 year old artifacts from Punic Carthage. Hee. I may deny that I ever said this when finals role around, but being in college is fun. ;) And TGI(Almost)F!

Stuck with Sticks coverage
Looks like I'm your gal to bring you some additional notes about MV's "Stars With Sticks" game. Not that I mind, I love ice hockey almost as much as soccer. :)
Beverley was at the game, too, so make that four Safe House visitors, and this cool report is courtesy of her (thanks!): "A little correction on the info you were given. MV had 2 assists. There were 3 announcers, one female, named Lisa Foxx from radio. MV was her favorite player. The announcers would sometimes say let's have a big hand for the players and everyone would cheer. Lisa 2 or 3 times said let's have a cheer for MV just because and he would get a great cheer. Actually the 2 biggest cheers when the players were being announced was MV and Kiefer Sutherland. Also when Lisa handed out the game MVP award she said you knew who she wanted to give it to but had to give it to the Home team (MV team) goalie Bobby Farrelly." Ohhh, MV cheers! Can I get a "HELL, YEAH?"
If you're still looking for pics of the man (count me in for eternal pic duty), Kat Bonson updated her extensive game gallery, some of which we've archived here. Thanks! Kiefer and Michael in the same spot... I guess it's much safer for the ice (and myself) these days that Richard Dean Anderson goes to skiing events instead. But still very, very dangerous. Very. In the best Scully imitation (the original Scully): "Hoo-boy!"
All-Star Matt
Matt Roush is out of the Penalty Box (figuratively speaking, we never actually added him), and goes right to the All-Stars for his latest column. A million kisses for acknowledging that "Lauren is probably the worst thing to ever happen to this show." Go, Matt! The rest is very rave-worthy as well. :)
TV Gal's also on the road to redemption. Not that she'd finally like Vaughn again, but at least she does mention two of the most underused characters this season: Dixon and Weiss. Word. Dixon's lack of storyline and participation is a slap in the face!
Guess I could put a little spin on Jen's blooper quote right about now. They not only "used to be the People's Choice," they also used to be the Critics' Darling. Plan your next move wisely, J.J.!
Nothing like a snarky note to end the update. Happy Hump Day!

Alias Goes UK
Well, this is certainly interesting. According to Wolf Events, there is going to be an Alias convention in London, over July 2-4, this year. DA, MD, and BC are all listed as confirmed guests, and tickets should go on sale soon. We'll bring you more info as we get it, but again, highly interesting!
Post-ep wrap-up
Kate coded her fingers off, but that's to your benefit because the latest snarkalicious ep summary is up. With music to listen to as your soundtrack to relive the ep in all its episodey-ness, or if you prefer, you can think about whether you agree with other people's music wishes (and if you don't, send your own in!).
Meanwhile, Spygirl has added quotes from the ep, which is always a good thing, and in case you vaguely recognized the latest addition to Syd's family tree (hmm, okay, having an I Love Lucy flashback) but weren't sure why, check out the newly updated Hall of Fame. (Another Kate addition; go Kate!)
And to round everything out nicely on this Tuesday, another chance to ponder how the editors got their jobs! There are some for season 1, and for saison deux, and finally, this season, including one from Sunday's ep.
I'm not sure where that petite burst of French came from, but I suppose you could always be glad I don't try to update in Latin. Bwah. (If I ever do that, please send the men in white coats after me.) But have a Vartanrific day!

More sticky pics!
Three Safe House visitors were lucky enough to attend the "Stars With Sticks" hockey game on Saturday, and they were totally game to let us post their pics and/or game intel! Whoohoo! Ladies, you rock! Thanks so much! Don't take another breath, run over to the galleries courtesy of Gwen Antonio and Kat Bonson, respectively. That just made your Monday, right? :)
They also provided us with details about the game. Thanks to Rachel we now know that "Michael's team (black/purple) won the Stars with Sticks charity hockey game, 7 to 4. I was at the game (it was worth the price of admission to see him playing hockey, getting sweaty and just looking hot to top it all off). I don't believe he scored any goals, but he did have one assist and played really well (actually, he put most of the other celebs there to shame). A few other people on his team were Bobby Farrelly (playing goalie), Paul Guilfoyle (from CSI), Neal McDonough (from the canceled Boomtown), DB Sweeney, and Joshua Jackson." Congrats! And again thanks for all the fan coverage! :)
I don't even know how to follow-up this one, but just for completionist's sake, I was able to track down two more MV pics from the game as well, so check out our initial page again! (Also if you missed it over the weekend!) And Michael? Do this more often, please! :thud:
Who's that young thing?
Just kidding, he's looking adorable! And what is our subject again this Monday morning? Right, MV. To quote John Crichton: "I'm stoked, not stupid." So, yeah, Jinnie sent us these four adorable pictures of young Michael Vartan (ca. 1992-93). Very cool! Thanks, Jinnie! Makes me want to watch those early French films again. Yum.
Awards and Parties
If you're not sick of photos yet, we added these two of DA and RR from the ABC TCA All-Star party last week. There are some additional shots here and here.
Also on that site are these new MD pics from the 17th, when she attended the "Hollywood Makeup Artist and Hairstylist Guild Awards." And even more from that event here, thanks to TwinnerA! :)
Jen was also out and about this weekend, going to the "6th Annual Gospel Brunch at the House of Blues" yesterday. There are some nice pics here, also thanks to TwinnerA, and here. Hard to keep up with the cast sometimes, isn't it? ;)
Hope everyone got something out of last night's ep. And if you didn't, take a look at those MV pics again. :) Have a great Monday!
