Mission Statement

Who are we?

We are, we will always be, The Vartan Hos. A group of cool chicks that had so much fun talking to each other about the man that is Michael Vartan that we couldn't stand not sharing with you. His projects have been more than simple movies or TV shows to us. Creating this site in spring 2002 was a wonderful experience for each and every one of us, an outlet for ideas, learning, and meeting people that we hope to still know five years from now. The lasting friendships we've made have turned something as silly as a television show or movie, and their gorgeous star, into a godsend.

Why are we here?

For you. For us. For all the hours we spend talking about Michael and having fun. For the past two years, the Vartan Hos have gotten together on a daily basis simply to talk about Michael, his projects and our lives. We are a group of gals who knew nothing about each other and came together for a common goal: admiring Michael Vartan.

Our Mission

At the end of the day, it's to have fun. To help other addicts like ourselves who need a place to go to purge their Vartan-demons. On this page are some of our very first private conversations about Michael and "Alias" that effectively started this web site. It hasn't always been pretty, but we share such a respect for one another that this site has been nothing but a joy to invest our time in. In reading them, we hope you feel proud to be one of us. Enjoy.

Our First Birthday

On April 25th, 2003, we were lucky enough to celebrate our first birthday. We used this opportunity to share some private thoughts and answered your questions. And reflecting on the first year wouldn't be complete without a "thank you" page. :)

Our Second Birthday

On April 25th, 2004, we celebrated our second site b-day. We want to thank you all for making this possible! Since a birthday is nothing without presents, we posted our exclusive "The Guide" coverage for that occasion, including our first *ever* video clip. Before the week was over, we added MV movie-themed Happy Hour creations and various personal and reflective pieces of fan art and quotes.

MV Birthday Project 2004 Benefitting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

Between September 27th and November 27th, 2004, we asked you to participate in our 2004 MV Birthday Project by sending a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Michael's honor and having St. Jude send your notification card to ABC in support of Michael and Vaughn. We'd like to thank everybody for contributing and for making this a huge success! We were able to raise a whopping $1,487 in honor of Michael's 36th birthday. Go, Hos!

Our Third Birthday

On April 25th, 2005, we were lucky enough to celebrate our third birthday. Gearing up for "Monster-in-Law," we added a cute new MV banner to the top of the WNP. We dedicated this birthday to all of you who keep visiting our site and send in news! Thank you!

MV Campaign 2005

The Internet community was quick to support Michael Vartan when his character Vaughn was killed off "Alias" in the Season 5 premiere. They launched MVCampaign.com, which consisted of three individual campaigns under the same banner of showing appreciation for Michael: a letter-writing effort targeting ABC and Bad Robot at vartanfan.com, a drive targeting the sponsors of "Alias," and taking out an ad in The Hollywood Reporter, which The Safe House took under its wings.

Between August 11th, 2005 and September 1st, 2005 we were able to raise $4,251.34 together, of which $600 could be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in Michael's name. We asked the fans for their input to the ad's design and collected "reasons we appreciate Michael Vartan." The ad ran in the September 30th issue of The Hollywood Reporter, the day after the "Alias" premiere had aired.

MV Birthday Project 2005

In light of the ad campaign earlier in the fall, we didn't want to do yet another fundraising effort for Michael's 37th birthday. Instead we assembled fanart and the reasons we appreciate MV that couldn't all fit on the ad.

Our Fourth Birthday

On April 25th, 2006, we celebrated our fourth birthday. We treated ourselves to a spiffy new banner for all sections in honor of our birthday. Since we're getting up there in years, we thought a bit of a facelift was in order.

MV Birthday Project 2006 Benefitting Pediatric Epilepsy Project, San Diego Zoo and South African communities

The Vartan Hos and the VartanFans teamed up for the 2006 MV Birthday Project. In honor of Michael Vartan's 38th birthday, fans donated $1,499.02 to the Pediatric Epilepsy Project that Michael himself chose as his charity for the birthday project. Additionally, $100 were raised to adopt a crocodile at the San Diego Zoo. The adoption certificate, and a metallic crocodile sculpture that was bought from the gift certificate we got and that benefits South African communities, were sent to Michael in care of his manager, Stephen Hanks.

Our Fifth Birthday

On April 25th, 2007, we celebrated our fifth birthday in style with a banner that Souris created.

Our Sixth Birthday

To mark the occasion of our sixth anniversary and "Rogue" finally getting a limited theatrical release in the United States, we put up a shiny happy b-day croc banner from Souris.
