Summary:
Sydney, taken into custody by the Security Section, is suspected to be a mole. Jack races against time to save his daughter's life by creating a bogus transmission for Marshall to find. The transmission implicates Russek, who is tortured and executed instead of Sydney. Sloane has Sydney brought to his office where he explains that Russek was discovered to be a mole for K-Directorate.

Sydney meets with Vaughn and expresses her confusion as to why her life was spared. Sydney and Vaughn meet again to exchange information and Vaughn gives Sydney a Christmas present. For her next mission, Sydney is sent to Semba Island to discover if Hassan has changed his identity. Once there, she finds out that not only does Hassan have a new face, he also has a new name: Nebseni Saad. She discloses this information to the CIA but does not tell SD-6. Regardless, SD-6 already has this intel, and Jack is sent to Cuba to assassinate Hassan.Vaughn presents a counter mission to Jack: He is to tell Hassan that SD-6 sent him there to assassinate him. However, in return for his client list, Jack will fake Hassan's death and offer him sanctuary within the CIA's custody.

Will learns the name 'SD-6' while listening to the audiotape given to him by his mysterious information source. Through this, he is led to David McNeil, a former computer genius, now serving a prison sentence for his wife's murder.

Vaughn tells Sydney that her father created the bogus transmission which caused Russek's death. Sydney struggles with what appears to be her father's lack of morality, but then Vaughn tells her that Hassan is holding her father captive. Sydney implores Vaughn to help her extract her father from Cuba - without SD-6's knowledge. Sydney is captured in her attempt to rescue her father, and Hassan tells Jack that in order to prove his intentions, he must kill Sydney.
