Summary:
Sydney must live with the emotional and moral consequences regarding the failed mission in Badenweiler, Germany. Vaughn, appointed as the CIA funeral liaison for the deceased agents' families, struggles with his past and emotions regarding his father's death. Jack's history is suspect when Sydney and Vaughn learn the FBI investigated him twenty years ago. Francie learns that Charlie's secret life doesn't involve another woman, but instead the desire to change careers. SD-6 suspects they have a mole within the agency when Marshall discovers a leak within the agency's systems database. A worm, secretly planted by the CIA, causes this leak. Will discovers the true identity of Kate Jones: Eloise Kurtz. Sydney and Dixon are briefed for their new mission. They're sent to London to recover the FTL's encoder device from an operative named Smythe. With the encryption decoder in SD-6's possession, Marshall ascertains that the device can only be used with a DNA sample from Gareth Parkashoff, who is now deceased. However, the only person who knows where Parkashoff is buried is his assassin, Martin Shepard. In order to learn Parkashoff's location, Sydney must infiltrate a Bucharest asylum where Shepard has committed himself. The mission goes horribly wrong when her partner, Agent Fisher (SD-6), is killed and Sydney's cover is blown.
