Summary:
Sydney and Dixon save the life of Nobel Peace Prize winner Dhiren Patel, when Dixon extracts a bomb that was surgically implanted in his chest. In his ongoing murder investigation, Will discovers that Danny and another woman, Kate Jones, were scheduled to fly to Hong Kong together. Will arranges a meeting with the mysterious Kate Jones and questions her about her relationship with Danny and her identity. Apparently, the real Kate Jones died in 1973. Sloane briefs Sydney and Dixon for their next mission. They must provide safe passage to the United States for a German scientist, Jeroen Schiller, in exchange for his vaccine research against biological warfare. Later, Vaughn instructs Sydney on the CIA's counter mission: she must exchange Schiller with a doppelganger CIA agent, Paul Kelvin. While Kelvin is in SD-6's custody, Sloane becomes suspicious of his integrity and orders his interrogation regarding the location of the vaccine. Sydney, Vaughn and Jack race against time to save Kelvin's life and pursuade the real Schiller to disclose all information regarding the whereabouts of the vaccine. The vaccine inhaler is located in Badenweiler, Germany. Sydney and Dixon are ordered by SD-6 to retrieve the vaccine and then destroy the production plant. Vaughn outlines Sydney's counter-mission. She is to disable the detonation device for Dixon's bomb and rendezvous with undercover CIA agents inside the factory to switch the vaccines. Unbeknownst to Sydney, Dixon has a backup detonator, which ultimately leads to the factory's destruction and the death of several CIA agents.
