DVD Review

Thanks to Spoiler Source "C". :)

I just finished going through the "For Your Consideration" DVD that the studio sent out for "One Hour Photo" for awards season, and it appears to be the actual DVD that they'll release in February. It has several extras, although no deleted scenes or new MV interviews, alas. There is a commentary track by Robin Williams and Mark Romanek, the writer & director, which was interesting. Unexpectedly low-key for RW, who had never done a DVD commentary before. Lots of cool trivia and insights about name choices, set details, editing decisions and filming stuff. RW actually went to training sessions and learned how to use the developing machine -- MR said he was so excited when he came in with a roll of pics that he'd developed all by himself. Unfortunately, no new info of note about MV is revealed. They actually didn't talk about characters other than Sy much. MR said he didn't like his writing in the Will-Nina fight scene and felt that he let MV and Connie Nielsen down there, although he complimented their acting.

Other extras are the Sundance Channel "Anatomy of a Scene" of the scene where Will and Sy meet in the Savmart, a Cinemax featurette (both of which contain a good amount of MV material and quotes), a Charlie Rose interview of Robin, the TV ads and the theatrical trailer.
