Collins heroic for NBC; Blackthorne takes 'Shots'

By Nellie Andreeva

Jessica Collins is joining NBC's legion of "Heroes," while Paul Blackthorne is joining the club at ABC's "Big Shots."

Collins will be recurring on the Universal Media Studios-produced "Heroes," playing Sophie, a mysterious woman with powers who works at the organization that is tracking all heroes.

Collins most recently co-starred on ABC's critically praised drama series "The Nine" and on CBS' drama pilot "The Man." She is repped by ICM and manager Emily Gerson Saines.

The upcoming drama "Big Shots" revolves around four high-powered CEOs or CEOs-to-be (Michael Vartan, Dylan McDermott, Christopher Titus, Joshua Malina) who socialize at the same exclusive golf club. In a recurring role referred to as "the fifth CEO," Blackthorne will play a sophisticated, iconic tycoon that the four aspire to be.

"Big Shots," from Warner Bros. TV, landed the plum post-"Grey's Anatomy" slot on ABC's fall schedule.

Blackthorne, who most recently played the lead on Sci Fi Channel's "The Dresden Files," is repped by SDB Partners and managed by Seven Summits.
