'Movies Rock' is alive with the sounds of film

LOS ANGELES — Movies, music and, more accurately, movie music were the talk of Sunday evening as stars filled the Kodak Theatre for Movies Rock, Condé Nast's mash-up of music stars and classic cinema.

It was an unusual gathering, as TV and movie stars mixed with their musical peers.

Eddie Murphy and fiancée Tracey Edmonds were on hand, talking about Beverly Hills Cop 4, stalled by the writers' strike. Also there: The Office's Jenna Fischer, Las Vegas' Molly Sims and Big Shots' Michael Vartan.

Movies Rock will be broadcast Friday on CBS (9 p.m. ET/PT).
