Newsmakers: The bold-faced and their parties

Oscar night is a swell excuse for hundreds of actors, directors, producers and professional sycophants to forgo spending just one night away from that Tinseltown grindstone and party it up.
A brief roundup: Genius producers and brothers Harvey and Bob Weinstein threw a pre-Oscar bash at the Pacific Design Center in West Lalaland, with Dolly Parton performing the Oscar-nominated song she wrote for Transamerica. The country goddess said Harvey, known for his uncompromising perfectionism, pushed her hard. "Little did I know how much work it would be," Parton told the crowd, which included George Clooney, Jessica Alba, Michael Vartan, George Lucas, Sienna Miller, Scarlett Johansson, Josh Hartnett, Transamerica star Felicity Huffman, and Judi Dench.
"Harvey Weinstein has worked my country butt off," Parton said.
