Over at Emirates, Desperate Housewives' Andrea Bowen, as dainty as a teacup in a Karen Millen dress and a Melissa Jackson hat, carefully ate from her plate of fries, while sighs of "that's him, there he is" (OK, that could have been us) greeted American actor Michael Vartan, in town until tomorrow.
We wondered how Vartan would explain Australians to people when he got home. "I can't, Americans wouldn't get it. Australians are a lot nicer; a lot more easy going . . . Australia is seriously my favourite country in the world. Everyone's so inviting and welcoming."
