Thanks to Alias , I am also doing cinema

By Herve Tropea

Many thanks to Flo for providing us with the translation!

13 h in a suite in the Renaissance Hotel on Hollywood Boulevard, Michael Vartan confide in "Teleloisirs". Keeping discreet on his short romance with Jennifer Garner, the attractive agent Michael Vaughn is still in search of his soul mate.

TL: Since your love story with Jennifer Garner, you are tracked by the paparazzi. How do you live that?
MV: I try to go on living my life as normally as possible... Even if it's not easy everyday! Concerning Jennifer, we are now very good friends and it's a pleasure to work with her.

TL: Some people say that she has sometimes diva's demand on the set of Alias. Is it right?
MV (he bursts out laughing): It's completely wrong! Jennifer is a real professional who is not afraid of spending whole days on the set of Alias. In spite of her long hours of work, she gets up very early to keep her physical condition.

TL: Thanks to Alias, you are now in demand by all the film studios. Do you now want to devote yourself more to the cinema?
MV: Absolutely. That is why I didn't hesitate to accept to play in "Monster in law". A film of Robert Luketic with Jennifer Lopez and Jane Fonda. How could I have refused to play with such partners?

TL: You have double nationality: French and American. Is it an advantage in Hollywood?
MV: No, not really. You know, when I go to France I am regarded as an American and when I am in the USA I am regarded as a French. As far as I'm concerned I consider that I am above all American!

TL: Were you the victim of the wave of francophobia which occurred in the USA during the war in Iraq?
MV: No because I don't approve the policy of France in this business! I haven't felt any animosity because I am totally behind America and particularly behind the brave men who fight in this war.

TL: Your cousin, David Hallyday and your aunt, Sylvie Vartan, live also in Los Angeles. Do you often see them?
MV: No, unfortunately. Our careers keep us very busy. I have yet been told that David found his soul mate. I am very pleased for him and I hope that it will soon be the same for me.
