MICHAEL

We'd like to thank Michael Vartan's mom - and not just for passing on good genes to this 6-foot guy with mesmerizing green eyes. If it weren't for her suggestions that he take acting lessons, he might never have wound up getting the role of Vaughn, our favorite CIA agent on Alias. Michael was raised primarily in Fleury, France (yes, he speaks French fluently), until he moved to Los Angeles with his mom and stepdad when he was 18. "She thought I'd make friends," he says. "I thought I'd meet girls." They were both right.

In addition to women's phone numbers, Michael (now 34) also scored some small parts on Friends and Ally McBeal. by far his best job was Never Been Kissed, in which he played the cute high school English teacher who sees past Drew Barrymore's Josie Grossie persona and falls for her intelligence. (Who didn't fall madly in love with him after that movie?)

Though Michael was once engaged, he's single now and isn't opposed to dating someone who's not famous. And he doesn't care what a girls does for a living as long as she has a "sweet demeanor." He says, "The number one quality I look for is friendliness."
