"Bid for a Cure" to Benefit Breast Cancer

SAN JOSE, Calif., Sep 27, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- eBay, The World's Online Marketplace(TM), kicks off the "Bid for a Cure" charity auctions in support of this year's Breast Cancer Awareness month to raise money for the fight against breast cancer. "Bid for a Cure" starts October 1 at ebay.com/bidforacure and will run throughout the month of October.

This year for breast cancer awareness month, the companies sponsoring auctions and the packages being offered through "Bid For A Cure" include

Loews Cineplex Entertainment's "Spotlight on the Cure" program will be listing more than 35 celebrity-designed popcorn buckets. The exclusive one-of-a kind buckets were created by some of the top names in the entertainment industry including Whoopi Goldberg, Ben Stiller, Mike Myers, Tim Allen, Geena Davis, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner, Colin Farrell and Today Show hosts Katie Couric and Matt Lauer. Proceeds will go to The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
