AmericanHockey magazine has an article "Welcome to HockeyWood" which talks about various stars of Movies and TV that play hockey. There are a few MV quotes:

' Michael Vartan, star of the hit TV show "alias", comes into the locker room and plops his hockey bag down next to you. "Aren't you supposed to be shooting today?" someone asks from across the room. He smirks and confesses, " I talked to {assistang director} into giving me a later call time. I just feel better when I play. When I don't play, life is just not as good." '

and also

' Vartan knows he'll never be as accomplished with a puck as he is with a screenplay, but he'll keep at it. "I started playing when I was in my early 20s. I wish I had started sooner when I had more free time," said the native of Normandy, France who now lives in Los Angeles. "I'd love to be able to just spend a couple of months at a training camp or hockey school, to be able to focus on hockey and get really good at it. Maybe I'll get them to write it into the show". '

and

'You ask the guy in the white helmet on the other team, "Hey Vartan where are you playing?" He says, "I'm playing D. Don't tool me today." You smile as he skates away. It's just hockey. '
