The Hollywood Exclusive

BY MARILYN BECK AND STACY JENEL SMITH

Jennifer Garner and husband Scott Foley are getting far away from the show-business grind for the holidays.

Jennifer, who somehow squeezed in shooting of Steven Spielberg's "Catch Me If You Can" between her grueling "Alias" series work, and Scott, in the first month of production of his upcoming NBC "A.U.S.A." sitcom, will be celebrating Christmas on a boat in the Bahamas.

"I think we all work too hard," says the former "Felicity" actor. "Any time we can get away is good -- it gives one time to refocus."

Scott is so determined that work not smother his personal life that he hesitated accepting the lead in "A.U.S.A."

"With my wife working so hard, I wanted to work my time around her schedule. It's working out fine, though. Doing a sitcom is a dream. I never realized it would be so different from an hour show. There's time for me to see my wife -- and when you're not tired, it's so much easier to do a good job."

Scott was dangled the bait for the new show just a month after he finished "Felicity" last April. A pilot was made that didn't get picked up, then NBC decided to have the story of a frosh attorney at the U.S. Attorney's office retooled, and, says Scott, "It's sooo great."

We'll have a chance to see in February.
