TV Gal Bestows Some Awards

by Amy Amatangelo

Shhhhhh. You have to promise not to tell anyone where I am. I'm writing this column from the TV Gal Bunker.

The 2002 Amy Awards were your categories and your nominations. But you know who had to deal with the readers' wrath? Why, that would be me. Some people were very angry that Rose McGowan was nominated for Worst Actor (you wouldn't believe the names I was called) and some people were so upset that Milo Ventimiglia was also nominated for Worst Actor that they didn't even want to vote.

That's nothing compared to the people who thought I was supporting an abusive relationship by nominating Spike and Buffy for Best Couple. I think I may have to join Audrey on "Dawson's Creek" and Tess on "Roswell" and enter the TV Gal Witness Protection Program.

The "Buffy" fans came out in full force for the 2002 Amy Awards. Even though the series had a season that divided many fans, "Buffy" won nearly every category. "Dawson's Creek" swept almost every negative category. I wasn't surprised to see "Downtown Crossing" win for worst episode (it could win for worst episode of the decade), but I was shocked that Joey and Dawson beat out Amy and Josh for Worst Couple.

Thanks to everyone who voted and participated in the 2002 Amy Awards. I've had a blast and I hope you did too. Here are the winners:
