Lena Olin joins the cast of ABC's "ALIAS"
Oscar-Nominated Star Will Play the Mysterious Mother of Sydney
Bristow
Veteran film actress Lena Olin will join the cast of "Alias" as a
series regular in the upcoming second season of the critically-
acclaimed spy series. Olin will play the mother of double agent
Sydney Bristow (Jennifer Garner), a KGB mole who faked her own death
during Sydney's childhood and is now believed to be the leader of a
shadowy spy group.
The Swedish actress' extensive film credits include "The Unbearable
Lightness of Being," "Enemies: A Love Story," for which she received
an Academy Award nomination, and "Chocolat," which was directed by
her husband, Lasse Hallstrom. Olin's other credits include "The Queen
of the Damned," "The Ninth Gate," "Polish Wedding," and she just
completed production on the independent film "The United States of
Leland."
"Alias" also stars Jennifer Garner as Sydney Bristow, Ron Rifkin as
Sloane, Michael Vartan as Vaughn, Bradley Cooper as Will, Merrin
Dungey as Francie, Carl Lumbly as Dixon, Kevin Weisman as Marshall
and Victor Garber as Jack Bristow. Executive producers are J.J.
Abrams, John Eisendrath and Ken Olin. "Alias" is produced by
Touchstone Television.
