Regent Picks 'It' Up Worldwide

Pic helmed, written by Feder; co-stars Vartan

By Dana Harris

Regent Entertainment has acquired the romantic comedy "It Had To Be You," starring Natasha Henstridge, for worldwide distribution. Regent will also handle the pic's domestic release.

Regent Intl. president Gene George previously distributed the film internationally during his tenure as president of NewStar Worldwide. There, George developed a relationship with the film's writer-director, Steven Feder ("The Cottonwood").

"It Had To Be You" is a romantic comedy that stars Henstridge ("The Whole Nine Yards") opposite Michael Vartan ("Never Been Kissed") in the story of two strangers who fall in love while planning their respective weddings.

Michael Rispoli and Olivia D'Abo play supporting roles in the pic, which was produced by Neil Kaplan and Feder.

Thanks to vartanetc.!
