Fall TV Guide: ABC's "Alias"

Jennifer Garner

Sundays, 9 p.m. EST
Debuts: Sept. 30
It's a show that combines the twentysomething lifestyle of Felicity with the high-tech gadgetry of The X-Files. Actually, it'll be going up against The X-Files on Sundays, so it had better be good. Starring Pearl Harbor's Jennifer Garner in the lead role, Alias follows the dangerous exploits of a mild-mannered graduate student with a very hard-edged night job: a CIA special agent with a penchant for ass kicking. However, keeping her job secret from the rest of the world-and her naïve fiancé-is a must. But can she?
Prediction: Tough timeslot, going up against The X-Files and NBC's UC: Undercover (both very similar shows). Should last one year.
