ABC Shakes Schedule Up With Five New Shows

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Viewers will see some major changes when ABC announces its new Fall schedule on Tuesday, as the net is expected to cut back on "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" and bring at least five new shows, including Jason Alexander's latest comedy.

Gone will be veteran shows "Two Guys and A Girl" and "Norm," but picked up for another year are "Once & Again" and all three of its midseason comedies, "What About Joan," "The Job" and "My Wife and Kids."

The new shows are expected to include the Kim Delaney starrer "Philly," along with "Thieves" and "Alias," and the Alexander comedy "Bob Patterson" and an untitled Jim Belushi show.

ABC is likely to play some musical chairs with its shows, with "NYPD Blue" set to return in November instead of January, as it has the last two years. "NYPD" vet Delaney will probably occupy her former show's slot with "Philly," while "Blue" may take Wednesdays at 10 p.m. from "20/20." At the same time, Friday's "20/20" edition may not air until "The Mole" completes its limited run on the night.

The net's hit game show "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" will be trimmed to just two nights, including Monday night before "Monday Night Football." Other shows expected to get a midseason order include the reality show "The Runner" and the Sally Field legal drama "The Court." The tentative schedule:
