ABC Orders More 'Alias' and 'Jim'

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - ABC gave "Alias" and "According to Jim" the ultimate pat on the back Tuesday (Oct. 23) by giving the freshman shows full season orders.

"While these two series couldn’t be more different in style and tone, they are similar in that both are immensely entertaining programs that perfectly compliment our schedule," says Stu Bloomberg, co-chairman of ABC Entertainment Television Group.

"'Alias,' with its mix of action and emotion, makes for the perfect Sunday night lead-in to 'The Practice,' and 'According to Jim's' take on fatherhood and married life is the ideal companion for our Wednesday night anchor, 'My Wife and Kids.' We’re thrilled that viewers embraced them so quickly and look forward to even greater success in the months ahead."

"Alias" has performed well in its Sunday 9 p.m. timeslot, regularly coming in second for the hour after NBC's "Law & Order: Criminal Intent." Among adults 18-49, the spy drama has ranked as the top freshman drama of the new fall season, with a 5.3 rating/ 12 share. "According to Jim" is third among new comedies this season, pulling a 5.2/14 since its debut.

"Alias" centers around grad student Sydney Bristow (Jennifer Garner) who is an agent for SD-6 -- a supposed top-secret division of the CIA that is in actuality an enemy of the United States.
