Bradley Cooper
|
Will Tippin
|
|
|
|
The Basics: Born January 5, 1975 in Philadelphia, Bradley Cooper attended
both Georgetown University and the Actors Studio Drama School at New York's
New School University, where he honed his acting skills onstage under the
guidance of actors like Ellen Burstyn and Susan Batson. He did his
graduate thesis in the play "The Elephant Man." The role of Will has been his largest to date.
|
The Basics: Will is a journalist-turned-faux-junkie-turned-CIA-analyst after his snooping
into the deaths of Danny Hecht and Eloise Kurtz led him to SD-6 (and not the
artificial sweetener, either). He's been stalked via bug-pin, kidnapped by
both friends and foes, and fired from his job for his tenacity. While his
professional life seems to be on the upswing (provided he's still alive),
one wonders how such a competent analyst will handle not realizing
his girlfriend was replaced by a Fembot hours after their first
kiss.
|
|
Personal: If we're to believe E!'s Ted, Bradley's happily attached, but
so far we don't know much more than the fact that he and Michael Vartan are
good friends.
|
Personal: After mooning away over Sydney for a while in the Vartan Hos'
#2 Most Unpopular Plotline, Will had a brief fling with his 20-year-old intern Jenny (she
of the greatest hair ever), but didn't find romance again until he and Francie
hooked up over lobster and success stories. His inability to get her out of town
fast enough resulted in her death by clone, but he didn't figure that out for a while
and they had a pretty hot affair (even if half of it was probably a post-hypnotic
suggestion).
|
|
Work History: A relative newcomer to acting, Cooper's career began while he
was in graduate school earning his MFA. He made guest appearances on "The Beat"
and "Sex and the City," and during the summer he hosted Lonely Planet's "Extreme Treks
in a Wild World" on the Discovery Channel. He also co-starred in the short-lived
Fox series "The $treet" and in the film Wet Hot American Summer, which he
missed his graduation ceremony from the Actors Studio to shoot.
|
Work History: Will's first major employment was as a reporter for the Los
Angeles Register, where he won the Kaplan Award for his inspirational story
about a fruit picker working for a slave-driving boss. When Will's expose of
SD-6 was printed following his kidnapping by Sark, Jack made him pose as a
heroin addict and admit that all his stories were a product of his drug-addled
state. His live was saved, but he was jobless. He briefly served as waiter in Francie's restaurant before landing a research job
at the CIA, ostensibly working on a travel magazine. It must be that bumbling
innocence, because he was promoted to CIA analyst shortly thereafter.
|
|
Trivia: Cooper has said on several occasions that he lobbied for
the show's creators to change his character's name from Clay to Will. Perhaps
it held bad memories for him, as his character on "The $treet" was named Clay.
His treasured New York ritual is eating Cherry Garcia ice cream while
watching Charlie Rose. He claims he owes his role on "Alias" not to his acting abilities, but to the
corduroy pants he was wearing when he auditioned (he's since had them laminated
and shrunk down to a size he can carry in his wallet).
|
Trivia: Will can most often be seen with either a sandwich or an apple in
his hand. His favorite movie growing up was "His Girl Friday," which is what
made him want to be a reporter. He picks painfully obvious (and painfully
suggestive, unfortunately) computer passwords. It would kill him to buy
a suit, even for an important meeting on national security.
He possesses a wealth of knowledge about Houdini, but not about
Harvard. And his capacity for hypnosis? Growing bigger by the minute.
