David Anders
Mr. Sark
David Anders Mr. Sark
The Basics: Born March 11, 1981 in Grants Pass, Oregon, David Anders spent most of his early years as an athlete rather than an actor. In high school, he was on both the football and tennis teams, but during his senior year, he began auditioning for and acting in plays such as "Jesus Christ Superstar" and "My Fair Lady." After graduating, he faced the choice between attending the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena or going directly to L.A. He chose L.A., and a little over a year later landed the part of Sark on "Alias." The Basics: As the hot young assassin on the intelligence scene, Sark spends much of his time doing Irina Derevko and Arvin Sloane's dirty work. He retrieves Rambaldi artifacts, trades sarcastic quips with his enemies, and most importantly, eliminates the competition. He has some of the most flexible loyalties in the business, turning on anyone to save his skin. Something about him screams "I'm the love child of my evil employers!"
Personal: Anders, whose real last name is Holt, has two brothers and a sister. He uses his middle name as a stage name because there is another actor named David Holt. Personal: It seems Sark's flirting with Sydney was all just a creepy facade, because he was dating Alison Doren, a.k.a. Evil Francie, way before she ever tried out body-switching. Now that she's dead, he can be a free agent again, just like he appeared to be for the entire duration of Alias excluding about two minutes.
Work History: Anders has studied with the Second City improv troupe in Chicago, as well as taking private acting lessons, voice lessons, and musical performance training. He is a member of the West Coast Ensemble acting troupe, and he recently acted in "The Diary of Anne Frank" with them. He has appeared in the film The Source as well as the TV series "So Little Time" with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Work History: His youth makes it hard to say where he got his start, but he's scored some pretty big coups in his time. Sark has killed the leaders of both K-Directorate and FTL, along with racking up plenty of other casualties. His short-term goal seems to be looking out for number one, but his long-term plans probably have more to do with Rambaldi.
Trivia: Anders says that when his mom heard he was going to have a larger role on "Alias" this year, she was hoping it meant Sark would evolve into a good guy. He was in "The Source" magazine doubling as Eminem in an ad for the rapper Canibus. Trivia: All we really know about Sark is that he loves good wine and enjoys a nice floor show. We don't even know his first name, although Victor Garber swears it's Steve. He recovers quickly from an axe to the leg, though, and he will point a gun at anybody.
