A Golden Globe winner and Emmy nominee, Dylan McDermott has mastered film, television and theater. Big Shots marks McDermott's return to series television.
McDermott was most recently seen on the big screen in The Pang Brothers' The Messengers. He played Roy Solomon, a man who decides to start a new life by moving his family from the city to a farm in North Dakota. As the farm begins to revive after years of disrepair, the family notices alarming changes among them. Released by Screen Gems on February 2nd, the film opened at No. 1.
In September 2006, McDermott returned to the stage in Eve Ensler's new play, The Treatment, which explored the relationship between a traumatized former military interrogator (McDermott) and his psychologist Colonel who is assigned to give him routine treatment. The play opened the Impact Festival 2006, a New York City wide arts festival as a part of the Culture Project. McDermott was nominated for a Drama League Award for his performance.
His extensive list of feature film credits include The Tenants, The Mistress of Spices, Edison, Wonderland, Party Monster, Texas Rangers, Three to Tango, Home for the Holidays, which was directed by Jodie Foster, Steel Magnolias, Hamburger Hill, Miracle on 34th Street and In the Line of Fire.
Television credits include TNT's dramatic limited series The Grid and David E. Kelley's Emmy Award winning series, The Practice, earning him a Golden Globe and an Emmy nomination. Theatre credits include Neil Simon's production of Biloxi Blues on Broadway and Golden Boy, which was directed by Joanne Woodward, at the Williamstown Theater Festival.
